I’ve noticed an interesting new development in comment SPAM.
This was received at a friend’s blog.
Normally comment SPAM is complementary and vaguely sycophantic; I love your blog, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Here’s something new:
Author : DumpCyptomy (IP: 184.108.40.206 , 220.127.116.11)
E-mail : firstname.lastname@example.org
URL : http://www.cheapmkbagsshop.com
Whois : http://whois.arin.net/rest/ip/18.104.22.168
This got picked-up by Akismet SPAM filters; it’s a really good service so do set it up on your blog if you can! The telling items are the URL and the random character email. Not so hard to pick-up.
The next time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I essentially thought youd have some thing interesting to say. All I hear is often a bunch of whining about some thing that you could fix in the event you werent too busy looking for attention.
Pretty harsh isn’t it?
What’s telling is that the comment doesn’t have anything specific about the content (as with the above-mentioned positive SPAM). However, it’s still very aggressive.
I wonder what’s next?
